Year 8 have made fantastic progress throughout the term and are settling back into their regular routines at Port Hacking High School. Earlier in the term students had the chance to choose their elective subjects for 2021 and the process has gone smoothly. We are currently organising numbers and classes for all Year 9 electives for 2021 and students will find out what subjects they’ll be studying next year soon.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the Year 8 cohort along with parents and guardians who were able to assist in the subject selection process.

I have also been very impressed to learn that during lunch times this week, our Year 8 students have been dedicating their time to making reusable masks that will be donated to those in our community who need it the most.

These masks are made up of three-layer materials, which will help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

The initiative was brought to the SRC by Abbey Dobson, who has shown great leadership during this difficult time and formed her own team to produce these masks to the standards set out by NSW health.

Well done Abbey! And a big thanks to Ms Thompson, our SRC Coordinator, for her support in getting this initiative up and running!
