Our Year 7 students had their first formal assembly last week.
It was an opportunity for them to hear from Relieving Principal Mr Price, Deputy Principal Ms Edwards and Year Adviser Mr Truebody.
Several students received their awards for achieving the “succeeding” level in the school value system and there was an amazing dance performance for us to enjoy by Milla Fernance.
Well done to the following recipients of the “succeeding” certificates:
- Riley Blacker
- Brody Estcourt
- Ella Philpott
- Sasha Platthy
- Amelie Sanchez
- Elisa Tello
- Daniel Luo
For those of you not there yet, as our relieving principal Mr Price said “set your self a goal.” If you don’t see yourself as a success right now, if you’re committed to learning – success is just a matter of time.
When you think about your goals and dreams, what do you need to learn to make it happen? Commit to the learning process.
As our deputy principal Ms Edwards said, “Be kind to one another.” Remember that being kind is never wasted. How people treat you is their path, how you treat people is yours. How many of you have followed through Ms Edwards’ challenge to display kindness towards each other? Don’t forget to let us know! Walk a path that will make you better and make you proud!
One of the most important things we can do is surround ourselves with people who believe in us, support us and love us unconditionally. If your friends don’t meet those criteria, then it might be time to find some new friends.
Mr Truebody and myself are here to support and guide you through high school.
Well done Year 7 on an outstanding start to your journey at Port Hacking High!
Maj Sibai – Year 7 Assistant Adviser
