Save the Date – CAPA Ensembles Showcase 2021

We are very excited that we will be able to hold our Semester 1 Ensembles Performance Night this year.

These evenings are a showcase of all of our extracurricular Creative and Performing Arts ensembles. They provide our students with invaluable performance experience and the opportunity to present the works that they have been rehearsing since the beginning of the year in front of a live audience.

We warmly invite members of our Port Hacking community: parents, siblings, friends and teachers, to join us to celebrate their achievements. Please save the date, the details are outlined below:

Date – Tuesday 8th June (Term 2 Week 8)

Time – 6:30pm – doors will open at 6:15pm for audience members

Tickets – $5 per person (children under 5 free) – available at the door

We look forward to seeing you there.

“Keys” to Success

Our Year 7 Music students are working on developing musical performance skills. This term they have been learning how to read simple scores and demonstrating their understanding by playing this repertoire on the keyboard. They are learning to read notes in the treble and bass clef. They will also need to demonstrate their coordination as we start to explore works playing two hands together.

The students have been very enthusiastic about engaging in these practical activities. It has been wonderful to see them develop their confidence as they practice and perform together as a class ensemble.

Some of our more experienced music students have had the opportunity to explore the different forms of the C clef, as well as engaging in individual practice sessions with repertoire tailored to their ability on keyboard. We certainly have some talented musicians.
